On January 24, the 7th CELAC Summit will be held in Buenos Aires, an integration mechanism that we have the duty and opportunity to revitalize.

Havana, Jan 22 (RHC) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel will attend the 7th Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), to be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, next Tuesday.

Through a video message posted on Twitter, the Cuban president confirmed his presence at the forum that will bring together heads of state and government, and senior representatives of the 33 member nations of the bloc.

In a few hours we will be in Argentina, the birthplace of Che and other friends and brothers, and admired heroes, politicians, intellectuals, artists, and athletes, said the head of state.

Let's go, he said, because on January 24, the 7th CELAC Summit will be held in the beloved Buenos Aires, an integration mechanism that we have the duty and the opportunity to revitalize.

In the communication, Díaz-Canel expressed the aspiration that "unity in diversity, a key principle that we share, will allow us to act as a solid family to promote and project Latin America and the Caribbean in the discussion of the global agenda".

CELAC began a process of revitalization in 2020, thanks to Mexico's actions at the head of the organization.

During 2022, under the pro tempore presidency of Argentina, the organization continued its progress in the consolidation and strengthening of the Community.

The meeting in Buenos Aires next Tuesday will be another historic moment, marked by the return of Brazil after that country left the bloc in 2020. (Source: PL)
