Cuban health collaborator kidnapped in Haiti has been freed

Havana, Feb. 2 (RHC) The Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) reported that on Wednesday, February 1, the collaborator Alejandro Aguilera Milanés, a member of the Cuban Medical Brigade in Haiti, who had been kidnapped in the city of Port-au-Prince on January 23 by one of the armed gangs operating in that country, was released.

In a note published on its website, MINSAP expressed its gratitude "to the Haitian authorities and to all the people of goodwill who immediately mobilized to safe the collaborator in the shortest possible time and ensure his safety".

It was reported that the collaborators of the Cuban Medical Brigade continue to provide their services to the Haitian population while complying with the security measures established for the performance of their duties. (Source: Granma)
