Havana, Feb 2 (RHC) The Ministry of the Interior reported on its website, the arrival of a group of 16 irregular migrants to Cuba by the U.S. Coast Guard.

The note indicated that 14 men and 2 women who participated in an illegal exit from the country, were intercepted at sea by the SGC and then returned to the island through the port of Orozco, in Bahía Honda, Artemisa.

One of them was taken into custody to investigate the alleged involvement in a serious criminal act before leaving the country.

Thus, 1,917 people have been returned to Cuba in 24 actions so far this year.

Cuba ratifies its commitment to a regular, safe, and orderly migration and reiterates its alert on the dangerous and life-threatening conditions posed by illegal departures from the country by sea. (Source: ACN).
