Ceremony in Havana for the 75th anniversary of the Korean People's Army.

 

Havana, Feb 8 (RHC) Cuba celebrated Wednesday the 75th anniversary of the Korean People's Army in a ceremony that ratified the consolidation of friendship and fraternity between the two countries.

 

The commemorative ceremony was presided over by the Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR), Army Corps General Alvaro Lopez Miera, and was attended by the ambassador of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), Ma Chol Su, as well as other diplomats, chiefs, and officers of the FAR and the Ministry of Interior.

 

Also in attendance was a representation of the military diplomatic corps accredited on the Island.

 

The second chief of the General Staff and head of the Directorate of Operations, Major General Eugenio Rabilero said that the two peoples have proved that they are capable of overcoming risks and difficulties, demonstrating that dignity, independence, and justice are non-negotiable.

 

The National Defense Attaché of the Pyongyang Embassy in Cuba, Sin Kun Sop thanked the celebration of the anniversary in this country. The Caribbean country and the Asian nation maintain a historic friendship that is developing at the highest level.

 

On February 8, 1948, after the victory of the Koreans over Japanese militarism, leader Kim Il Sung made public the creation of the regular armed forces, the date that is commemorated as the founding date of the Korean People's Army. (Source: Prensa Latina)
