Havana, February 13 (RHC)-- The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel thanked his counterpart from Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), for his rejection of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on the island.

"I already told you how much Cuba loves you, dear brother.   Today it is you who tells us, once again, how much you love and defend Cuba, in deed and word.   Thank you," the Cuban leader said on Twitter.

In his message, Díaz-Canel shared a video with López Obrador's intervention in the morning press conference on Monday, in which he reiterates his condemnation of that unilateral policy.   "It is important that this is treated as a fundamental human rights issue because it is undoubtedly a violation, no one can encircle, blockade, a people for political and ideological reasons, it is inhumane," said the Mexican head of state.

AMLO also referred to the majority support received every year, since 1992, by the draft resolution against the blockade presented by Cuba at the United Nations.
