LEBANON-CUBA

Beirut, Feb 20 (RHC) Lebanon and Cuba advocate for the strengthening of bilateral ties, in the context of the 63rd anniversary of the establishment of their relations.

At the Lebanese diplomatic headquarters, Hani Chimayteli, secretary general of the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, discussed with the head of Havana's diplomatic mission, Jorge Leon, the excellent level of ties between the two countries.

According to a note sent to Prensa Latina, the parties agreed on the importance of deepening coordination in multilateral events and forums.

León took the opportunity to reiterate his gratitude to Lebanon for its support in favor of Cuba’s struggle against the economic, commercial, and financial blockade maintained by the United States against the island for more than six decades.

During the meeting, they noted the interest and willingness to deepen mutually beneficial ties between Cuba and Lebanon. Both countries established relations on June 15, 1960, and Lebanon is home to the largest solidarity movement with Cuba in North Africa and the Middle East. (Source: Prensa Latina).
