Malmierca in Colombia
Bogota, Feb 22 (RHC) Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade Rodrigo Malmierca participated today in the opening of the 42nd edition of the Vitrina Anato 2023, considered the most important tourism event in Colombia.
With his participation in this fair organized by the Colombian Association of Travel Agencies and Tourism (Anato), the Cuban minister concludes a three-day visit to this nation where he had a broad work agenda to show the business possibilities in the Antillean country.
On Tuesday, he attended the presentation of the Portfolio of Foreign Investment Projects with emphasis on the Biopharmaceutical sector, which was presented by the head of the Export Department of Biocubafarma, Ailén Díaz.
Malmierca also met with representatives of the Colombian Federation of Cattle Breeders, the National Association of Entrepreneurs, Analdes, a leading company in the timber industry, the Society of Farmers, the Colombian Agricultural Institute, and the sanitary authority Invima.
In this meeting, the businessmen expressed their interest in knowing the details to invest in Cuba in areas related to the sale of beef, and construction materials such as steel, and air connections, among others.
There was also interest in learning about the Cuban vaccine GAVAC against ticks in cattle, developed by the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, known by its acronym CIGB.
During these meetings, the minister was accompanied by a delegation made up of Janet Fernández, director of Trade Policy with Latin America and the Caribbean of the Ministry of Foreign Trade; Omar Fernández, secretary general of the Chamber of Commerce and the head of the Export Department of Biocubafarma, Ailén Díaz.
