Havana, March 10 (RHC)'' The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel recognized Friday the work of the workers of the 110 Kv Generating Group in the central city of Santa Clara, some 268 kilometers east of Havana.

In his Twitter profile, the Presidency reported that the president toured that center in the company of the other seven candidates for deputies to the Parliament for the capital of the province of Villa Clara.

"Here there is a lot of morale and the electro-energy workers in our country, and you in particular, we have to respect and admire you very much for everything you have been doing in these complex times," Diaz-Canel stressed.

He also emphasized that it was very significant for him to begin this Friday's tour at the 110 Kv Generating Station, which is one of the first work trenches.

He also talked with workers about the strategy followed by the country to increase generation capacity.

During the tour, it was reported that with the commissioning of 11 new generator sets, the province reached 74.8 MW, maximum power achieved by its four power plants.

The Santa Clara 110 Kv generator set, located in the Subplanta neighborhood, contributes 16 MW to the National Electroenergy System.

The day of exchanges also included a meeting with workers from the non-state sector, who raised concerns related to taxes, access to raw materials, obstacles with the bank and imports, to the candidates for deputies.
