Cuba and the Dominican Republic sign a memorandum
Havana, March 25 (RHC) The highest representatives of the national Institutes of Hydraulic Resources (INRH) of Cuba and the Dominican Republic - the Cuban Antonio Rodríguez Rodríguez and his Dominican colleague Olmedo Caba Romano, President and Executive Director of their respective institutions -, signed a Memorandum in Havana to develop cooperation between both nations on the proper use of their corresponding water assets.
One of the Memorandum’s essential objectives is the efficient management of the hydraulic infrastructure, the adequate service of drinking water supply and its quality sanitation, and the supply for efficient irrigation and for other uses, with a view to sharing knowledge, experiences and information in such technical and technological spheres.
It also included the promotion of cooperative relations on issues of mutual interest, education and training programs, management of hydrographic basins, water balance and planning, research and organization plans and projects, and holding events.
The representatives specified that their main axes of cooperation are related to consulting, research, training, advisory services and technical assistance and events, once the means and cooperation actions have been identified, as well as their financing.
Valid for three years, the Memorandum in question contemplates the legislation in force in each country regarding intellectual property, protection of data and confidential and classified information, and what is agreed in the documents signed for the execution of bilateral actions.
