Esteban Lazo, president of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba (Parliament)
Havana, Mar 26 (RHC) The president of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba (Parliament), Esteban Lazo, affirmed on Sunday that popular participation in the national elections sends a message of strength for the Revolution.
Faced with the efforts of the enemies to divide us, this is the answer we must give, said Lazo, who is also president of the Council of State, after casting his vote in polling station 2, constituency 10, in the municipality of Playa.
In statements to the press, Lazo highlighted the importance of a united vote which expresses the democratic nature and fairness of the process, since it eliminates the disadvantage of lesser-known candidates compared to public figures (election campaigns are not held in Cuba).
He extolled the leading participation of young people in these elections, as well as in the different stages of the Revolution over the past six decades. (Source: PL)
