The National Bank of Cuba will file an appeal against the decision British court after the lawsuit filed by the vulture fund CRF I Limited
Havana, Apr 5 (RHC) The National Bank of Cuba will file an appeal against the decision of a British court after the lawsuit filed by the vulture fund CRF I Limited, according to Justice Minister Oscar Silvera.
The holder of the portfolio pointed out that the action of the vulture fund is in bad faith. "There are documents that prove the intention to harm the country and affect the financial flows of the Cuban economy," he stressed.
He also pointed out that Cuba is immune to English jurisdiction, and has no obligation to respond with its assets to the lawsuit. Since CRF is not a creditor of the Cuban State, Cuba is out of the lawsuit. The day before, the island won the lawsuit by issuing the sentence that establishes that the vulture fund CFR I Limited is not a creditor of the State of the Caribbean nation.
In a hearing held in the High Court of England and Wales, Judge Sara Cockerill notified the lawyers of the parties of the ruling corresponding to the lawsuit filed by the vulture fund CRF I Limited against the island and the National Bank of Cuba. (Source: Prensa Latina)
