Casa de las Américas announces an award for musical composition

Havana, April 9 (RHC) With the aim of stimulating and disseminating the recent musical creation of the Latin American and Caribbean area, Casa de las Américas, in Havana, called to participate in the 2023 Composition Award, from April 18 to 21.

The event, held every two years, will award prizes in this ninth edition of Visual Music works, which describe a wide range of creative approaches to working with sound and image.

Said contest hopes to receive experimental productions that border the frontiers between sound, music and the visual field. In order to reach this approach, the attending Latin American composers will project themselves towards new interdisciplinary approaches within artistic creation, always promoting experimentation based on theoretical concepts of rhythm and image.
