Havana, May 1 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel on Monday greeted the archipelago's workers on their International Day and urged them to celebrate it by contributing something to the well-being of the Homeland.

"Let's put #ALaPatriaManosYCorazón, there is always noble and useful work to do for Cuba," the president added on his Twitter account and stressed that the date will be celebrated on the 5th.

The Central de Trabajadores de Cuba (CTC) reported the day before the postponement of the commemorative activities for May 1, due to the weather instability that caused heavy rains this Sunday in different localities of the country.

In a note released by local television, the organization that groups all the nation's unions said that May 5 will also be declared a labor recess, so that the country's workers, simultaneously, can carry out the parades and rallies that traditionally take place to celebrate the date.
