Havana, May 11 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel held a new exchange with representatives of economic and social sectors in the central province of Sancti Spiritus on Thursday.

The purpose of the meeting, which was held at the University of Medical Sciences of the capital city, is to assess how much has been done - and can still be done, from each territory - in the context that the nation is going through.

The meeting, which was also attended by Manuel Marrero Cruz, Cuba's Prime Minister, and Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of Organization of the CC-PCC, is an essential part of the work style of the country's top leadership aimed at analyzing, at the base, the problems that, with the cooperation of all, can be solved or mitigated.

Cuban authorities are aware of the existing potentialities for the nation to break through, despite the complex panorama caused by the tightening of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States and the world crisis.

"The blockade will continue to tighten and we cannot let it defeat us", said Díaz-Canel last January to party and government authorities of Sancti Spiritus, businessmen, farmers, representatives of mass organizations, private entrepreneurs, researchers and experts.
