Young people of the world will lead a caravan against the blockade of Cuba

Havana, May 27 (RHC) Delegations of the World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY) will lead a caravan today in Havana against the blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba.

Nearly 90 young people from around thirty countries will march from the floating dock in the Havana municipality of Old Havana to demand an end to the economic, financial and commercial siege that has suffocated the island for more than 60 years.

As part of the activities of the General Council of the WFDY, which is meeting in Havana, a Mission of Solidarity with the Caribbean nation was inaugurated on May 24 to put an end to the unilateral measures established by the US Government.

This Sunday the final session of the General Council will be held at the Fidel Castro Center, an institution dedicated to the study of the life and work of the historic leader.

Founded on November 10, 1945 in Budapest in opposition to the fascism of World War II, the WFDY adopted a commitment to peace and is currently represented by 136 organizations from 97 countries.

According to Cuban authorities, the blockade has intensified in recent years to unprecedented levels. An example of this is the loss of 3,806.5 million dollars from August 2021 to February 2022. (Source: PL)
