Cuban Foreign Minister affirms that Summit of the G77 and China will strengthen the unity of the South
Havana, June 16 (RHC) The Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez, highlighted this Friday that the G77 + China summit will reinforce the unity of the South in the face of the challenges of the present and the future.
Rodríguez expressed before the Diplomatic Corps accredited in Havana, that the appointment of next September 15 and 16 in Havana will allow working together for the unity and determined action of the countries of the south, in order to face to present and future challenges.
The summit of the integration bloc, convened by the Cuban president Miguel Díaz-Canel in his capacity as pro tempore president of the group, will seek consensus on various issues that point to a new international economic order, one of its founding objectives.
The Cuban president recently asserted that the Current Development Challenges: Role of Science, Technology and Innovation will focus the debate of world leaders, who will confirm that "scientific and technical progress, which is key to achieving sustainable development, is inaccessible to the great part of humanity”.
Founded in 1964, within the Non-Aligned Movement, the group faces enormous challenges for the development of its nations, which together represent 80 percent of the world's population and more than two thirds of the United Nations membership. (Source: PL)
