Belgrade, Jun 21 (RHC) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel thanked the constant displays of friendship and the actions of Serbian solidarity groups with the Caribbean nation in the fight against the U.S. blockade.

Díaz-Canel considered that it was "a gratifying meeting, of renewed commitment in defense of the Revolution. We are very grateful for their support to the struggle for the end of the genocidal blockade".

Before the meeting, the head of state placed a wreath at the Monument to the Unknown Hero in tribute to the martyrs of this nation.

The head of state noted that in that ceremony "we were accompanied by the Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Milos Vucevic, and General Milan Mojsilovic, Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces".

Previously, Diaz-Canel met with the president of the Serbian National Assembly (parliament), Vladimir Orlic.

We share the interest in deepening inter-parliamentary ties between Cuba and Serbia and the willingness to continue strengthening the ties of friendship and collaboration between the two countries, said the president of the island on an official visit to this capital.

On this day, the Cuban president was received by his Serbian counterpart, Alexander Vucic, at the Palace of Serbia.
