Inauguration and revitalization of remarkable works in southern Las Tunas
Las Tunas, July 16 (ACN)-- After four years of an investment of over eight million pesos, the Florita Canning Factory in the southern municipality of Jobabo, began the long-awaited production of jams, chopped candies and pickled vegetables.
With modern technology and a labor force of a dozen workers, the entity belonging to the agricultural system in that locality, will allow obtaining a ton every 60 minutes; productivity that will be achieved from the possession of a modern steam system in the boilers and the timely supply of raw materials.
In the land of the first slave uprising in America (1511), a space was also revitalized that seeks to promote food production with the cultivation of fry in the Unidad Empresarial de Base Granja Urbana, where there are some 47 tanks for these purposes from the productive chain between the various economic actors.
Roberto Eduardo Caneyes, specialist of the center and veterinary technician, said that at the moment they have a significant variety of species ranging from tilapia, labeos and carp to shrimp, which make up more than one million offspring, which will be sold to the population and private producers.
The municipality, which this Saturday celebrated the central activities in the province for the 70th anniversary of the assaults on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks, was the scene of the opening of a store for the sale of food, toilets and labor supplies for charcoal workers, those who guarantee the ruble for export from the south of Las Tunas.
As institutions of socio-cultural impact, new premises dedicated to the promotion of local culture in perfect harmony with small and medium-sized enterprises were inaugurated, including the refurbishment of the terrace of the Perucho Figueredo House of Culture in the historic center and the construction of a children's house for some 30 families in the community of San Antonio.
A new veterinary clinic is part of the facilities that make up the Instituto Politécnico Agropecuario Manifiesto de Montecristi, with equipment that allows the refrigeration of samples and medicines, the treatment of various health conditions and artificial insemination, guarantees that will complement the educational activities starting in September.
The town of El 12 materialized an old wish with the creation of a desalination plant from the treatment of water in the wells of the area and its conversion to a liquid in perfect condition for human consumption, with an installed capacity of four cubic meters per hour for a population of about 1,700 people.
Among the most revealing good news of this journey was the recovery process in the Polyclinic 14 de Junio with hospitalization service, which in a first stage already managed to recover the emergency system, the change in the furniture of three admission rooms and the waterproofing of 120 square meters in spaces that include surgical and delivery rooms.
In addition, the largest building of its kind in Jobabo, it was possible to establish a new Family Doctor's Office for primary health care, and the opening of the Child and Adolescent Care Service; in a place that maintains a zero mortality rate at birth and where the cases of teenage pregnancies have been reduced by up to 20 percent.
The eight works promote the use of the potentialities in the territory from the preparation and vindication of the industries in their social objects, the improvement of the new actors of the economy and the revitalization of the educational and health services.
