Cuba's prime minister inaugurates moringa powder plant in Pinar del Rio

Havana, August 19 (RHC)-- Cuba's Communist Party of Cuba (CC-PCC) Central Committee Political Bureau member and Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz inaugurated on Saturday in the western province of Pinar del Río, the plant for processing moringa for medicinal purposes and as a nutritional supplement.

Located in the Unidad de Base Productiva (UBP) 'El Pitirre', in the municipality of Los Palacios, it is estimated that the plant will process and obtain about 20 tons of moringa powder every year.

CC-PCC members, Jorge Luis Tapia Fonseca, Vice Prime Minister of the Republic; Yamilé Ramos Cordero, First Secretary of the PCC in Pinar del Río; Ydael Pérez Brito, Juan Carlos García Granda and René Mesa Villafaña, Ministers of Agriculture, Tourism and Construction, respectively; as well as Antonio Rodríguez, President of the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources.
