Havana, Sep 4 (RHC) The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic, Roberto Álvarez, will begin an official visit to Cuba and will last until Tuesday, September 5.

As reported by the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs on its website, during his stay the foreign minister will hold talks with the country's authorities and carry out various activities of interest.

Álvarez will lead a political and migratory round with the Cuban Government with the purpose of consolidating relations and cooperation between the two nations.

The Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs specified that the Dominican foreign minister will be received at the Palace of the Revolution by Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel this Monday.

The agenda includes a floral offering before the monument of the National Hero, José Martí; a meeting with the Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodríguez; and a visit to the Dominican embassy in Cuba.

On Tuesday, Álvarez will visit the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology. He will also meet with Ricardo Cabrisas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, and with Argelio Jesús Abad Vigoa, First Vice Minister of Energy and Mines. His agenda also includes the visit to the Fidel Castro Ruz Center, an institution dedicated to the study, research and dissemination of the thought and work of the historical leader of the Cuban revolution.
