Havana, October 15 (RHC)-- The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel reiterated his government's concern over the escalation of violence in the Middle East, as a result of the continued violations of the rights of the Palestinian people.

In his account on the social network X (formerly Twitter), the dignitary pointed out that "numerous UN resolutions violated by Israel's Zionism; years of attacks, occupation, humiliation and crime against Palestine: that is the cause of the violence that the world today has the moral obligation to resolve".

The Cuban head of state accompanied his message with the tags Cuba for Peace and Free Palestine.

The Cuban Foreign Ministry made an "urgent call for a cease-fire and to immediately facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid to Gaza", a week after the bombings perpetrated by Israel against the Palestinian enclave.

In a communiqué, the Foreign Ministry reiterated its deep concern over the escalation of violence, "a consequence of decades of Israeli practices of illegal occupation and colonization".

It also called for the "search for an early solution through negotiation to stop this escalation of violence and its very serious humanitarian consequences".
