Havana, October 18 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel condemned Tuesday Israel's criminal bombing of the AI Ahli hospital in Gaza that caused more than 500 deaths and hundreds of wounded.

On his X account, the president reaffirmed the Caribbean island's condemnation of the atrocious crime "in the strongest terms", and demanded an immediate ceasefire between the parties and put an end to these flagrant violations of International Humanitarian Law.

The Cuban position was also rejected on the same social network by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodriguez, who described as "repudiatory" the air attack against the Palestinian health institution.

According to press reports, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said a few hours ago that most of the fatalities are children and women, which reveals that this is precisely the intention of the aggressors: to attack schools, hospitals and kill innocent civilians.

The Government of Cuba rejected in a recent statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the death of innocent people from all parties involved in the conflict, regardless of ethnicity, nationality or religious faith.

It also strongly condemned the killings of civilians, especially women, children and workers of the United Nations system, as well as the indiscriminate bombings against the population of Gaza and the destruction of homes, hospitals and civilian infrastructure.    (Source: Prensa Latina)
