Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs highlighted the resolution approved by Jamaica's House of Representatives codemning the US blockade on Cuba
Havana, Oct 27 (RHC) -- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez thanked Jamaica’s authorities for their support against the US blockade against Cuba.
Rodríguez highlighted on X that for the 15th time the Jamaican House of Representatives approved a resolution condemning the commercial, economic and financial blockade.
On October 24, Jamaican legislators approved this resolution by consensus, which also denounces the island's inclusion in the unilateral list of countries that sponsor terrorism. The text states that the blockade is “an act of unilateral aggression and represents a transgression of the right to peace, development, and security of a sovereign state, as well as a permanent threat to the stability of a Member State of the United Nations”.
According to information published on the website of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, after presenting the document the legislators explained the various effects caused by the policy and reiterated the extraterritorial nature of the blockade that prevents Cuba from establishing normal commercial relations with third countries, among them Jamaica.
They also expressed their admiration and respect for the Cuban people for their resistance and resilience and for the achievements in various social spheres. (Source: PL)
