Havana, Nov 3 (RHC) The 16th China-Latin America and Caribbean (China-LAC) Business Summit ended in Beijing today under the theme Open innovation and shared development, in which Cuba showed leading products.
The vice president of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce, Tania Aguiar, participated in the opening of this event that brought together more than a thousand high-level representatives, including government officials, leaders of international organizations and prominent businessmen.
According to sources on the island, the Antillean nation participated during this day in the business conference in which they received cooperation interests in agriculture, renewable energy, industry and food mainly.
During the event, Cuban exportable products and services were exhibited, such as coffee, rum, tobacco, honey, bioproducts for agricultural use, the biopharmaceutical industry, medical services and tourism.
This Thursday, a cooperation initiative was launched to promote the development of the digital economy, agricultural, cultural and tourism cooperation, and take advantage of the potential of a green economy in the construction of a community of shared future China -LAC.
Chinese Vice President Han Zheng stressed that since 2012 China has been the second largest trading partner of the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, while that region has become an important destination for Chinese companies to invest abroad.
The event was attended by Ren Hongbin, president of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, who reaffirmed that entity's commitment to facilitating the flow of supply and demand.
Started in 2007, the China-LAC Business Summit is held annually by the Asian giant and Latin American countries on a rotating basis. (Source: PL)
