Havana, December 13 (RHC) -- The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel called on Tuesday for an end to the genocide carried out by Israel against the Palestinian people, with the complicity of the United States.

From his account on the social network X, the dignitary urged to heed the call of the new resolution of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) to immediately stop the barbarism in Gaza.

Co-sponsored by more than 100 countries, including Cuba, a new resolution on the critical situation in Palestine was approved today by the UNGA.

The approved text demands an immediate humanitarian ceasefire, that all parties comply with the obligations of international law and international humanitarian law, in particular the protection of civilians, the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages and access for humanitarian aid.

The document presented by Egypt was endorsed by a large majority of Member States, with 153 votes in favor, ten against and 23 abstentions.   (Source: ACN)
