Havana, December 16 (RHC)-- The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel congratulated this Saturday the filmmakers and workers of the Round Table on its 24th anniversary.
The dignitary highlighted the work of the program's collective, founded on the initiative of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz (1926-2016), to inform, enlighten, guide and fight for the truth with the weapons of ideas.
The Roundtable was founded on December 16, 1999, on the occasion of the kidnapping of the child Elián González by the U.S. mafia, thus initiating the Battle of Ideas.
The program's first edition was entitled: In what time can a child's mind be changed?
Informing, explaining and arguing national and international events that have a significant impact on contemporary society continues to be the objective of this radio and television program produced by Cuban Television.
The Round Table is broadcast from Monday to Friday from 7:00 pm; its general director is Randy Alonso Falcón and the general coordinator, Arleen Rodríguez Derivet, who also alternate in the role of moderators of the table. (Source: ACN)
