Caracas, September 23 (NNN-RHC) -- Two new cooperation agreements between Cuba and Venezuela, to exchange supplies between the Labiofam SA and Agropatria SA enterprises, were signed in Caracas. This new program of exchanges was signed in the presence of Rogelio Polanco, Cuba's ambassador to Venezuela.

The agreement for the production and marketing of biological products against larvae and rodents, bio-fertilizers and agricultural bio-pesticides was signed by Ivan Gil, Venezuelan vice-president for food security and sovereignty, and Jose Antonio Fraga, president of Cuba’s Labiofam S.A.

During the signing of the agreements, Fraga said that, starting from this contract, the operation of a processing plant in Maracay, in the state of Aragua, shut down for many years, should be boosted.

He explained that Cuba's participation will take place not only in terms of administration and technology transfer, but also of training of the staff for the production of varied fertilizers and veterinary medicaments contributing to the food and agriculture development of the country, from the experience of Labiofam.

Fraga added that Cuba is willing and has the resources to cooperate with the Venezuelan public health ministry with specialized personnel and Labiofam products, in the struggle against the country's epidemiological situation, particularly in the fight against dengue and the Chikungunya virus, in the same way it has been taking place in other nations of the area and in Africa.
