Ajón obtained obtaining several national and international awards for his stories and novels, while he also stood out in journalism

 

Havana, Jan 22 (RHC) The prominent professor, linguist, writer and Radio Reloj journalist, Alberto Ajón León, died this Sunday at the age of 75, victim of complications generated by a sudden neurological ailment.

An employee of the time and news station for 35 years, Ajón marked an era in Cuban radio with an exceptional command of the language, the good use of which he defended in all settings, both among announcers and presenters.

A man of vast culture, Ajón outstood at Radio Reloj, first as a copy editor and later as director of the Weekly Magazine to which he injected a new spirit to investigate the arts, science and politics.

Graduated from the Enrique José Varona University of Pedagogical Sciences, for 17 years he worked as a Spanish and Literature Teacher in different urban secondary schools and in the countryside, until he was promoted as a teacher at the Institute where he had previously graduated.

He successfully cultivated literature, obtaining several national and international awards for his stories and novels, while he also stood out in journalism, a profession in which he also obtained important awards. (Source: ACN)
