Havana, January 28 (Web Network)== The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz Canel evoked on Sunday the patriotic and humanist stature of José Martí (1853-1895), on the 171st anniversary of his birth.

In his X profile, the dignitary recalled the date through a text by the historic leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz (1926-2016) that reflects the importance of Marti's legacy in the construction of a society based on the principles for which the most universal of Cubans fought, fell in combat and became eternal.

"On a day like this, which marks another anniversary of his birth, we can tell Martí that today more than ever we need his thoughts, that today more than ever we need his ideas, that today more than ever we need his virtues." pic.twitter.com/MZqnu0lgew

On that same social network, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez also remembered the master with another reflection of Fidel.

"Martí taught us his ardent patriotism, his passionate love for freedom, the dignity and decorum of man, his repudiation of despotism and his unlimited faith in the people."    FIDEL
