Havana, February 13 (RHC) -- Intellectuals, personalities, thinkers and academics from 37 countries, together with their Cuban colleagues, continue here today debates in the context of the II International Meeting of Theoretical Publications, Parties and Movements of the Left.
During the day, the participants will reflect, among other issues, on the alternatives to confront the media war of the great centers of power against the peoples, and the need to defend the revolutionary theory.
The meeting, which began the day before with a call for unity and the struggle for peace and solidarity of the peoples against imperialist aggressions, is a continuation of the first of these meetings held in Havana in February 2023.
In his opening remarks, the head of the Ideological Department of the Communist Party of Cuba, Rogelio Polanco, highlighted the relevance of exchanging visions, agreeing on actions based on committed reflection in pursuit of the historical struggles of the left.
He identified as lines of action the condemnation of imperialism and Zionism, the struggle for peace, as well as the solidarity of the peoples against imperialist aggressions, which he qualified as the most elementary of the commitments to be assumed by the theoretical publications of the left.
The attendees reflected on the relevance of articulating efforts to strengthen the unity of the left without losing identity and attended the presentation of the book American Essays, by Cuban philosopher Isabel Monal (Source: Prensa Latina).
