Havana, March 3 (RHC)-- Mobilizations throughout Cuba ratified support for the Palestinian people in the face of Israeli genocide, and warned about the threat that looms today against the town of Rafah, where more than a million displaced people remain.

Massive rallies, called by youth and social organizations, took place on Saturday before in the provincial capitals and other Cuban cities to demand an immediate ceasefire, an end to the aggression and the withdrawal of the Zionist occupation forces.

In Havana, thousands of people gathered at the José Martí Anti-imperialist Tribune, in the presence of President Miguel Díaz-Canel, Vice President Salvador Valdés, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero and other top leaders, to condemn the genocide.

During the activity, the multi Paralympic champion, Omara Durán, expressed the solidarity of Cuban women and people with Palestine, and pointed out that after 148 days of massacre, more than 30 thousand people are reported dead.

Such figures, she said, do not include those who never reached the hospitals or remain under the rubble in the Gaza Strip, devastated by the bombings.

She pointed out that among the dead are some 8,800 women and 13,230 minors, including babies only a few months or years old, and denounced that two mothers die every hour in Gaza, while hundreds of women have lost their pregnancies.

In the foundation square of the city of Matanzas, teachers, children, doctors and representatives of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC) joined the world day of support to the Palestinian people, called by progressive movements and organizations of the world.

In Pinar del Rio, also in western Cuba, a solidarity march crowded El Pinero square, in Nueva Gerona, to denounce the Zionist crime in the face of the indifference of many governments and the direct complicity of others, reported national television.

Meanwhile, in San Juan de Dios Square, in Camagüey (east), representatives of the pioneer organizations, the FMC and the Union of Young Communists spoke out, stating that the Israeli crime is evidence of the failure of diplomacy and of the current international order to prevent such barbaric acts

Likewise, in Sancti Spíritus, the Major General Serafín Sánchez Valdivia Park gathered more than 18 thousand Cubans in the name of peace; and in Santa Clara, a massive march went through the city from Los Mártires Park to Vidal Park.

Participants in all the events denounced Washington's complicity in the massacre, by continually using its right to veto in the United Nations Security Council to block resolutions presented by several countries in favor of peace in those territories.  (Source: Prensa Latina)
