La Paz is the most affected, followed by Cochabamba, Santa Cruz, Oruro, Potosí, Chuquisaca, Pando, Beni and Tarija

Havana, March 15 (RHC) Cuban president Miguel Díaz-Canel lamented this Friday the loss of human life and the extensive damage in Bolivia caused by heavy rains and floods.

Through his account on X, the head of state expressed his solidarity and condolences with the affected families and the Bolivian authorities.

On that platform, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez also expressed his condolences to the South American nation, which has already recorded the death of at least 50 people and more than 40 thousand families affected by the persistent rains.

The intense rainfall in recent days caused emergencies in the nine Bolivian departments. La Paz is the most affected, followed by Cochabamba, Santa Cruz, Oruro, Potosí, Chuquisaca, Pando, Beni and Tarija.

The Bolivian authorities predicted that after the rains there will come a stage of intense fight against diseases such as dengue, whose transmitting agent is the Aedes aegypti mosquito. (Source: PL)
