Matanzas, March 23 (RHC) -- In front of the western bay of Matanzas, located 100 km from Havana, Bolivia's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Cuba, Yeshika Rosario Crespo Velásquez, vindicated the right of the Bolivian people to have access to the sea.
The diplomat also urged to seek new mechanisms for the resolution of the maritime claim between the governments of Chile and Bolivia through diplomacy and respect.
Symbolically, flowers were thrown into the sea for the date and the tragic events of the fire at the Supertanker Base were also remembered.
The ambassador also planted trees in District 78 and exchanged with the inhabitants of the area that stands out for its community work.
Bolivia celebrates the Day of the Sea every March 23, a date on which it remembers its international claim for access to the Pacific Ocean while commemorating a lost war against Chile that has served to shape its national identity.
