Cuban Head of State receives Gleisi Hoffmann, president of Brazil's Workers' Party
Havana, March 28 (RHC) Cuban president Miguel Díaz-Canel this Thursday received the president of the Workers' Party (PT) of Brazil, Gleisi Hoffmann, who makes an official visit to the island.
During the meeting, Díaz-Canel thanked Hoffmann for her presence in the country and the solidarity of her political organization towards Cuba, as well as the constant support of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva during complex moments.
Meanwhile, Hoffmann highlighted the significance of visiting the Caribbean nation, and thanked the Cuban people for their solidarity when Lula was imprisoned. She recalled her visit to the island in 2019, when more than two million signatures from the Cuban people were delivered to her for the release of the Brazilian president.
The Secretary of Organization of the Communist Party of Cuba, Roberto Morales Ojeda, and the federal representative for the Workers' Party, Lindbergh Farías, were present at the meeting.
After the meeting, an Exchange and Cooperation Agreement was signed between both parties, which ratifies the good state of inter-party ties.
