Havana, September 30 (RHC)-- Human health, food security and environmental protection constitute priorities of the Cuban Agency for Nuclear Energy and State-of-the-art Technologies.
Officials with the Havana-based entity told the press that the top priority for the 2016-2019 work period is the island's health system, primarily the national program against cancer, which is the leading cause of death on the Caribbean island.
Regarding food security, the agency officials pointed to soil studies and the development of drought-tolerant crops that are more resistant to the effects of climate change.
