Sri Lankan tourism executive with interest in ties with Cuba
Havana, March 29 (RHC) The president of the Western Province Tourism Board, in Sri Lanka, Sugath Hewapathirana, today expressed his interest in possibilities of exchanges with Cuban institutions for the development of bilateral relations.
In a meeting in Colombo with the Cuban ambassador Andrés González, Hewapathirana also expressed his desire to promote tourism from Sri Lanka to Cuba, according to diplomatic sources.
For his part, González explained to the Sri Lankan manager details about the next International Tourism Fair, FITCuba 2024, which will take place from May 2 to 5 in Jardines del Rey, north of the central province of Ciego de Ávila.
He explained that this fair, of a professional nature, is the most important event of the Cuban tourism industry, and a reference to the investment possibilities in the Caribbean nation in different sectors of the economy.
The Western Province is one of Sri Lanka's nine and the most densely populated in the country. It consists of three districts, including the capital, Colombo. (Source: PL)
