Havana, June 6 (RHC) -- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel today congratulated the Ministry of the Interior on his 63rd anniversary through his account in X.

The Cuban president extended his congratulations to the leaders, officers and combatants of that institution.

"A strong embrace and congratulations to the leaders, officers and combatants of the Ministry of the Interior, who honor the legendary history of the institution, defending the security of the nation and citizen tranquility, with the courage of its founders," Díaz-Canel wrote on the social network. .

For its part, the Cuban Foreign Ministry praised today, on the same platform, the work carried out by the Ministry of the Interior (MININT), an institution founded in 1961, citing a phrase by Fidel Castro, “The work of the MININT is one of the most honorable and dignified that a revolutionary can have…”   "We extend our congratulations to MININT workers and combatants on the occasion of their 63rd anniversary," he adds.

Also this Thursday, the president of the National Assembly of People's Power (Parliament), Esteban Lazo, congratulated the members of that security force.   “Congratulations to the members of the Ministry of the Interior,” the president of the ANPP, Esteban Lazo, wrote on the X social network.

"With the strength of the people, they have dedicated themselves to the defense of the Homeland, the Revolution and Socialism, with admirable dedication, fidelity and commitment," Lazo noted in his congratulations.

In response to the hostility and attempts of the United States government to overthrow the Cuban Revolution (January 1, 1959), that Ministry was founded in 1961.

The military structure integrated departments of the Ministries of the Interior and Justice, aimed at protecting internal order and national security.

During its growth process, it took under its command the Firefighters and Forest Ranger Corps, the Canine Corps, the Border Guard Troops and the Special Brigade.

The Ministry of the Interior works with the people to confront criminal conduct and actions in Cuban territory and also against those conceived or executed from abroad.

Its troops also participate in efforts to preserve human life and safeguard the country's heritage in the face of natural disasters and health crises.  (Source: Prensa Latina)
