Havana, July 6 (RHC)-- Essntial issues for society occupied the agenda this Friday of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), headed by the First Secretary of the Communist Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel.

According to the pcc.cu website, the Party body was accountable to the VIII Plenary Session of the PCC Central Committee, which began on Friday in Havana, and learned about the connection of the Political Bureau to the base in recent months.

The Secretary of Party Organization, Roberto Morales Ojeda, presented the report that summarized the work of the PCC structure between the VII Plenary Session and the current one.   Morales described as “constant” the interaction of the nation's political leadership with citizens, evident in the tours of the First Secretary of the PCC through 76 municipalities in the country, the publication reports.

He assured that since December 2023, the Political Bureau analyzed 68 issues and adopted 108 agreements related to defense, national security and foreign policy, among other issues.

The Party leader insisted on the attention, evaluation and systematic control that the organization must pay to the implementation of the update of the Economic and Social Policy Guidelines of the Party and the Revolution.

Likewise, he reported that 155,334 meetings were held in which more than three million people participated to ensure and implement the Government's strategy to correct distortions and boost the economy.

Food production and the confrontation with corruption, illegalities and social indiscipline occupied part of the agenda of the VIII Plenary Session of the Central Committee of the PCC, which will conclude on Saturday.

The Government of the Caribbean island faces these phenomena that threaten the social well-being and achievements of the country, which is why they demand a struggle with the conscious participation of the entire population.
