Havana, July 7 (RHC)-- Forces of the Ministry of the Interior dismantled a terrorist plan against Cuba, organized and financed from the United States, that institution reported today through a note published in the Granma newspaper.
The text details that as a result of the investigation carried out by the specialized bodies of the Ministry of the Interior -- Minint -- citizen Ardenys García Álvarez was arrested, who illegally entered and brought firearms and ammunition into Cuba by sea, as well as to other involved residents in the national territory.
García Álvarez had emigrated to the United States, illegally, in 2014.
The action was part of a new recruitment plan to carry out violent actions, stated the Minint note, which recalled that in December 2023 the Cuban Government published in the Official Gazette of the Republic the list of people and entities that sponsor terrorism against Cuba.
Two days later, preliminary information was released about the neutralization of a new recruitment plan to carry out violent actions in our country, which was intended to be carried out by a Cuban citizen residing in the United States, the text noted.
The actions of the forces of the Ministry of the Interior prevented the implementation of the plans designed, directed and financed, once again, from the United States and generated an investigative process focused on the facts and the people involved.
At the conclusion of the National News Prime Time broadcast this Monday, July 8th, at 8 p.m., Cuban Television will offer a special program with the evidence that demonstrates the terrorist plans and actions, as well as their main participants. (Source: Prensa Latina).
