DPRK leader Kim Il Sung remembered in Cuba

Havana, Jul 8 (RHC) The Secretary of Organization of the Communist Party of Cuba, Roberto Morales, today recalled the legacy of the leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), Kim Il Sung, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of his physical departure.

Through his X account, Morales emphasized that the friendship between Kim Il Sung and the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, "is an indelible part of the heritage that constitutes the firm foundation of our inter-party relations.

Born on April 15, 1912 and died on July 8, 1994, Kim Il Sung was the creator of the Juche ideology and supreme leader of the DPRK from its founding in 1948 until his death in 1994.

By decision of their respective historic leaders, Fidel Castro Ruz and Kim Il Sung, Havana and Pyongyang established diplomatic relations on August 29, 1960.

Since then, Cuba and the DPRK maintain close reciprocal cooperation and agree on international issues, including Pyongyang's condemnation of the U.S. blockade against the island for more than 60 years. (Source: Prensa Latina)
