Havana, October 9 (PL-RHC) -- The role of microbiology and parasitology in addressing infectious diseases, emerging and re-emerging will be tackled in a congress from October 14th to the 16th in Havana.
The Congress on Microbiology and Parasitology will be held simultaneously with the V National Congress of Tropical Medicine and V International Seminar on HIV/AIDS in Cuba. The event will bring together a number of lecturers from Cuba and other nationalities.
The event will provide for updating, discussion and exchange on the advances in understanding bacterial, fungal, viral and parasitic diseases, highlights the forum official website.
It further notes that HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, dengue, malaria, cholera, influenza, microbial resistance, capacity building and globalization of infectious diseases are among the topics.
During the working sessions, diagnosis, epidemiology - both clinical and pathological of the diseases - will be reviewed through lectures, symposiums, round tables, oral presentations and posters.
