Havana, July 12 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel has denounced the persistent hostility of the United States against his country, a nation that he described as truly independent, peaceful and supportive.

"The anti-Cuban machinery is determined to bring the Cuba issue to the United States electoral campaign, taking advantage of the corruption and lies of the process," the president stated on his official account in X.

For his part, Cuba's Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez reported that in recent days, American politicians and the State Department have been determined to slander the island, in a desperate search for electoral support from the anti-Cuban mafia.

Rodríguez stressed that these actions seek to justify the cruel and absurd policy of economic asphyxiation of the Cuban people.

Authorities of the Caribbean nation revealed last Monday details of an infiltration operation, financed from the United States, aimed at carrying out attacks against economic, social and military objectives with destabilizing purposes.

According to Colonel Víctor Álvarez, second head of the Specialized Body of the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the Ministry of the Interior, events like these have been repeatedly reported to the U.S. authorities without any action being taken.

According to analysts, the double standard of the United States Government in addressing an issue as sensitive as terrorism exposes the true essence of the policy with which successive administrations of that country have attempted, for more than six decades, to overthrow the Cuban Revolution.  (Source: Prensa Latina).
