Communist Parties of Cuba and Greece strengthen relations

Havana, July 12 (RHC) The Secretary of Organization of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), Roberto Morales, received today Dimitris Koutsoumbas, Secretary General of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), to strengthen the unity between the two political organizations.

During the meeting, the Cuban leader stressed the importance of promoting the unity of communist, leftist and progressive parties to counter the advance of the fascist ultra-right, the PCC reported on its website.

Morales also ratified the will to diversify relations and expressed the willingness to develop cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The Greek Communist leader, for his part, reaffirmed the KKE's support for the Cuban Revolution, joined the demand for Cuba to be removed from the false list of states that allegedly sponsor terrorism and condemned the intensification of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States.

Koutsoumbas and the delegation that accompanied him also went to the headquarters of the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba, where they held a dialogue with the general secretary of that trade union organization, Ulises Guilarte, national television reported. (Source: Prensa Latina)
