Cuban president sends message to high-level meeting in China

Havana, July 12 (RHC)-- The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, sent a message to the second High Level meeting of the Forum on Global Action for Shared Development, which is meeting in China, the Cuban Foreign Ministry reported on Friday.

At the opening of the event, a video message from the president was presented, where he calls to promote development as the central axis of the system of international relations, agree on efficient cooperation to reduce inequality gaps and advance in the execution of the 2030 Agenda.

According to the Foreign Ministry, this event and in particular the Global Development Initiative, represents for Cuba a valuable space in promoting exchange and cooperation on a global scale.

The delegation of the Caribbean nation attending the event is headed by Deputy Prime Minister Jorge Luis Tapia, who will also complete a bilateral program that includes meetings with authorities from the Asian giant.

This year's edition of the Forum on Global Action for Shared Development brings together high-level representatives from more than 50 nations and international organizations.

The main activities include the holding of five parallel sub-forums on the eight key areas of cooperation of the Global Development Initiative.  (Source: Prensa Latina)
