Several parts of China have been experiencing heavy rains and flooding for weeks, affecting hundreds of thousands of people

Havana, Jul 22 (RHC) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel regretted the serious damage caused by the rains in the Chinese province of Shaanxi.

Through his account on X, the Head of State expressed his sincere condolences to the Asian giant and recognized the efforts of the Party and Government of that country in the prevention and rescue work.

Several parts of China have been experiencing heavy rains and flooding for weeks, affecting hundreds of thousands of people, while others are experiencing temperatures of up to 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit).

In the northern province of Shaanxi, heavy rains caused a bridge to collapse, killing at least 12 people and leaving more than 30 missing.

Also earlier this month, Huarong County in Hunan experienced severe flooding after a dam burst on Dongting Lake, the country's second largest freshwater lake.
