Cuba and Ethiopia strengthen bilateral relations and relations between foreign ministries

Addis Ababa, July 24 (RHC) - Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Elio Rodriguez today held a dialogue with Ethiopian State Minister for Foreign Affairs Mesganu Arga on bilateral issues and the will to strengthen cooperation.

Rodriguez expressed the Caribbean island's willingness to deepen political-diplomatic relations, in addition to highlighting the historical bonds of brotherhood that unite the two nations, according to a press release from the Embassy of Havana in Addis Ababa.

Likewise, he thanked the African country for its traditional support for the Cuban resolution against the US blockade, approved every year by the UN General Assembly, and its support for the African Union resolution to put an end to this criminal policy.

He also welcomed the continental organization's request to remove Cuba from the US State Department's false list of countries that sponsor terrorism.

As a result of the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the two foreign ministries for bilateral consultations.
