Belarusian President Congratulates Cuba on National Day of Rebellion

Minsk, July 26 (RHC) - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko on Friday congratulated his Cuban counterpart Miguel Diaz-Canel on the occasion of the National Day of Rebellion.

In his message, the Belarusian leader noted that both countries need to expand cooperation not only in the traditional sphere of trade, but also in cooperative forms of interaction, Belarusian media highlighted on Friday.

The creation of joint ventures for the production of whole milk, medicines and tractors will lead to a qualitatively new stage in our economic relations, he added.

Lukashenko emphasized that for Belarus, Cuba is "one of the most important partners and friends of the Western Hemisphere".

The Belarusian leader emphasized that it was on the Day of National Rebellion that Cuba began its path to building a socially oriented state to "pursue an honest domestic and foreign policy".

Lukashenko wished peace and prosperity to the brotherly Cuban people.

After his recent visit to Cuba, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko noted that despite the difficulties and Western sanctions, the possibility had been found to supply Belarusian products to Cuba, where they produce food and machinery.

The Cuban leader, for his part, said he was looking forward to Lukashenko's visit. He stressed that Havana condemns the interference of the United States in the internal affairs of Belarus and the unilateral sanctions against the country, another circumstance that unites the two nations.
