Tehran, July 29 (RHC) -- Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz arrived in Tehran on Monday to participate in the inauguration of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday.
According to a government communication released on the social network X, in the State Protocol Room, Marrero Cruz thanked the Iranian Minister of Health, Bahram Einollahi, for the welcome and highlighted the historic relations that unite the two nations.
He also expressed the willingness of Cuba to strengthen ties of friendship and cooperation, on this his first visit to the Persian country.
The head of government said that political ties are at the highest level and there is a lot of agreement in the international sphere, the official communication states.
“However, more progress can be made in the economic and commercial area. We have identified the fields of interest, one of them is Health,” he said.
For his part, Einollahi said that “Iran loves Cubans very much” and recalled the exchange of visits between Tehran and Havana, particularly in 2023.
The Prime Minister's stay in the city will extend until the first day of next August, the text states.
Marrero Cruz, specifies, “will complete a work program that includes meetings with Persian authorities, representatives of solidarity movements with Cuba and members of the state mission.” (Prensa Latina)
