Diaz-Canel congratulates Ralph Gonsalves on his 78th birthday

Havana, Aug. 9 (RHC) First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Diaz-Canel, on Thursday congratulated the Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Ralph Gonsalves, on the occasion of his 78th birthday.

"We send you a big hug and our best wishes for health and personal success," the Cuban dignitary wrote in his profile on the social network X, a message he accompanied with a photo of the honoree.

Diaz-Canel also thanked Gonsalves "for his constant friendship, solidarity and commitment to the Cuban people."

The head of government of San Vicente has expressed in several scenarios his position in favor of the Cuban Revolution and its top leaders.

He criticizes the hostile position of the U.S. government, which for more than 60 years has maintained an economic, commercial and financial blockade against the largest island of the Antilles, while advocating its removal from the false list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism.

Gonsalves has a record of promoting and maintaining regional integration. He has spoken on the subject at Caricom (Caribbean Community) conclaves and CELAC (Community of Latin American and Caribbean States) meetings.

In November 2020, he was re-elected Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines for the fifth consecutive time, and his party, the Unity Labour Party, won nine of the 15 seats in Parliament. (Source: Prensa Latina)
