Cuba to host 7th Latin American Skydiving Championship
Matanzas, Cuba, Aug 15 (RHC) From Aug 20 to 25, the International Skydiving Center of Varadero, in the Cuban province of Matanzas, will host the VII Latin American Skydiving Championship with the presence of 27 competitors.
The website www.radio26.cu reports that 27 athletes from Brazil, Chile, El Salvador, Montenegro, Russia, and Russia DOSAAF (counterpart of the Cuban Aviation Club), will compete against the Cuban national teams A and B. On the sidelines of this event, the women’s team and the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces team will also host the Third Friendship Cup.
The competition will be held in the precision landing modality with actions at the International Parachuting Center of Varadero on competitive days between 09:00 and 17:30, local time, with eight daily qualifying rounds.
The press release points out that the Championship is endorsed by the Latin American Parachuting Confederation (Colpar-Siglo XXI) and organized by the Cuban Aviation Club, the Cuban Federation of Parachuting Sports, in coordination with the Cubanacan S.A. Travel Agency, and the National Air Services Company.
The tournament is aimed at exchanging experiences, strengthening friendship relations
among national and foreign skydivers, judges, and support personnel, and encouraging the practice of precision acts. (Source: Prensa Latina)
